  1. Dear Professor Shaw,

    I would be very much interested in your opinion on American foreign relations. In your own definition of genocide, could what America is doing to the middle east be classified as a genocide?

    I’m currently working on a dissertation in Philosophy and Ethics and any insight would be invaluable to me.

    1. Sorry for the delay in replying. No, what the USA is doing in the Middle East cannot be classed as genocide. However some of its actions might be considered war crimes, and the US intervention in Iraq in 2003 certainly helped cause the emergence of Islamic State, which is widely considered to have committed genocide.
